Layered Living in Greenwood

Furnishings Designed by Kelly Edmister

Some projects come together through planning. Others feel like pure kismet.

When the homeowners, David and Diane, first walked into Seville Home in the summer of 2025, they asked specifically for designer Kelly Edmister after being referred by the builder’s designer. They were relocating to Kansas City and starting fresh—an entire lake home, including all of its furnishings, had unexpectedly sold above asking price—and as the process evolved, so did the trust. What could have felt overwhelming instead felt strangely aligned. From the beginning, everyone involved felt like the universe was pointing them in the right direction.

Before the clients had moved in, Kelly visited the home to take measurements and studied a nearby model with a similar floor plan. With no existing furniture in the space, the project became an exercise in imagination, thoughtful space planning, and instinct. Diane had a fabric she loved and envisioned for a sofa, and Kelly found the right sofa frame in that fabric—an inspired starting point for the home.

As the process evolved, so did the trust. Kelly and the clients quickly realized they shared a similar point of view, often arriving at the same decisions naturally and effortlessly. The home came together organically through thoughtful curation, intuitive selections, and a creative process that felt fluid from beginning to end.

The interiors remain intentionally restrained and sophisticated—anchored in black, white, camel, and warm neutrals, with color introduced selectively through artwork and subtle accents. Minimal yet layered, refined yet approachable, the home reflects clients who are deeply design-conscious, youthful at heart, and confident in simplicity.

For Kelly, Greenwood remains one of those rare projects where the right people, timing, and creative chemistry aligned from the very beginning.
