Collected Comfort in Cedar Creek
Designed by Becky Mosby
Some homes are built around a floor plan. Others are built around a vision.
When homeowners, Carola and Bob, first connected with designer Becky Mosby, she had recently been referred through a local tile and flooring company while building a new home in Cedar Creek after relocating from Denver to be closer to their daughter. Carola arrived with inspiration images, favorite designers, and several foundational selections already in place — including flooring and tile — which became the starting point for the home’s overall design direction.
From there, Becky became involved in nearly every detail of the project, helping guide cabinetry, plumbing, lighting, furnishings, and finishes throughout the home. Rather than following the typical “new build” formula, the goal was to create interiors that felt layered, classic, comfortable, and elevated — blending rich materials, soft neutrals, collected pieces, and distinctive details that would stand the test of time.
As the project evolved, so did the relationship. Carola frequently traveled back and forth from Denver during the process, and some of Becky’s favorite moments became the days they spent together sourcing throughout Kansas City. Becky would often pick her up from her hotel, and the two would spend the day selecting finishes, furnishings, and details for the home. With a strong sense of her own style and a clear understanding of what she loved, Carola made the creative process feel collaborative and effortless from beginning to end.
The finished home reflects both the client and the process behind it — thoughtful, welcoming, personal, and deeply layered with intention.
